I just started using my "VIRTUAL" keyboard in reaper to trigger my drums...It is easier than pulling out my midi keys lol So hope that might point you in the right direction...Also for the dble hits you can do that live with your virtual keyboard, many of the triggers have more than one place on the keyboard so you use two fingers (instead of sticks (-:) Also in your midi editor you can just add another midi note for your toms (or any other drum) very close to the hits you want and adjust the timing to get your desired effect...Hope that helps a bit...
