Yeah, that's what I mean. For example, have one instance play the bossa nova kit part at 1X (like from the Jazz MIDI) which will match rhythmically with the LP EZX samba parts set to 1/2X.
In the Percussion Ensemble section of the LP EZX, the timbales part is what a kit player plays on the snare drum and the cajon is playing the part a kit player plays on the kick drum. Of course there are variations, but if those two parts basically line up with the snare drum and kick drum part, you know you've got it right.
Simplified:
LP EZX Samba cajon = kick drum part (more or less)
LP EZX Samba timbales = snare / sidestick part (more or less)
