Train beat probably played medium velocity with feel.
You can also manually adjust a midifile velocity down or up with the velocity knob before drag/dropping it. Usually not too much on the up as ghost notes start to be un cool.
You can do this to the same file at different velocities creating dynamics between sections even if the same file.
I understand this is slightly different to what you may be looking for but its a fast way to overcome the problem you are having.
