I've looked at many videos and what I'm hearing is 'Side Stick'(you are correct) with Clave and/or Cowbells, then the occasional 'Fill' and Cymbal Crash as the song progresses.
I'm not sure if you're the right person to address this next question to but here goes.
What I'd like to do is to use a simple 'Pad Device' that I can, literally, put on my recording desk, assign the samples by Pad number and then tap out and record my specific latin percussion drums arrangement.
I know under 'settings' there's an 'E Drums' section, but I'm thinking that would be for a 'Full Set' of Electronic Drums, though there is in the drop down menu a selection for 'Other' The products I'm looking at are: Korg nanoPAD2, Akai LPD8, Arturua Beatstep. would any of these be 'Other'?
If there's a reference document you can refer me to or a previous answer here in the forum please link me to those.
