I think you need to download the EZX expansion kit from the Toontrack website. As long as you had the original EZDrummer it should be in your account.

What version of EZD2 in showing on the EZD2 interface? The latest version is not 20 months old. The latest is version 2.1.1 and is in the Updates tab under your EZD2 product in your Toontrack account.

So what version number shows on your EZD2 interface? Lower left corner or check the Menu->About EZdrummer. My guess is that you are running 2.0.2 and not 2.1.1 so you would correctly get an error....
