Scott on How to install registered products on a new MacBookPro

The answer is 'yes' and 'it depends'. You can have 2 systems authorized at one time. You can download and install all products in full except Superior Drummer products (S2 and SDXs). Those require discs.

How to:

Log into your Toontrack account and download the full product installers. Next, download any updates from the Updates section for each product. Install and authorize using the online authorization process or the offline process.

Damian,
Thank you for replying! I can't say I would ever use those particular sounds, but otherwise the EZX sounds pretty good.

When i try to install the updater it tells me "The location where EZdrummer normally stores its sounds is invalid. This update cannot proceed without a working EZdrummer 2 installation." I've also read that my library seems damaged. I have already registered the plugin and I'm afraid if I uninstall ezdrummer then it'll take away one of my registration credits. I think i goofed up

John on Re-installing After Licenses Are Exhausted

Hello,

I've owned a couple of different computers over the years and it's been necessary for me to re-install all of my Toontrack plugins (for which I've paid I'm not sure how many hundreds of dollars) under a new authorization code each time. I'm getting ready to upgrade my operating system and I'm concerned that I'll lose the plugins again. Is there any way to avoid re-purchasing all of my software upon re-installing even though I've exhausted all four of my available licenses for some of the products?

Hi,

that's not how it works. I have deleted your Inactive Authorizations. Let us know when you need to free up more Auths.
I can see that your Active ones are from 2010, so it's no problem.

Hi,

if the computer is Authorized, it is Authorized. Re-installing the Full product will not change that.

You should give us more info.

What is crashing? Host DAW? Plugin? Which plugin?

What are your system specs? OS? Host? Version numbers of everything (host DAW plugin, OS).

Please be as detailed as you can be.

Ok, and with Superior Drummer products (S2 and SDXs) is going to be any solution for this problem?

Thanks again.

You can try asking for replacement discs from Toontrack directly. See the FAQ below to contact them.

If they do send discs, I would suggest keeping track of them or backing them up somehow. The samples are what you are buying when you purchase the license. 😉

Bonecracker on Unexpected error When I open ezdrummer???

I am also having the same problem. I installed the update to EZDrummer 2 and the sound library update, and now on the "search" tab, it says "Unexpected Error" and to please close all instances of EZdrummer and try again. I have uninstalled and versions and reinstalled twice, but the error message still keeps coming up.
The drum sounds are still working, but the midi section is where the error occurs. Also, when I start up Pro tools, it has the warning
"this EZdrummer is not the latest installed on this system. The version you should be using can be found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugins\Toontrack\"
Makes no sense because Protools plugins should not have been installed in VST plugin folder.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi,
please try the following:
you need to remove some files in the 'AppData\Roaming\' folder. This is a hidden folder but you can open the Windows Explorer and type in 'C:\Users\yourComputerUserNameHere\AppData' to access it, or click Start > Computer > Hold ALT + T to get the tools menu open > Folder Options > View > Enable "Show hidden files, folders and drives" and Untick "Hide protected operating system files". I would prefer the first way myself.
Then please remove the following files:
MidiDB, MidiDB_fav, MidiDB-shm, MidiDB-wal (if they exist) from
"C:/Users/"CurrentUser"/AppData/Roaming/Toontrack/EZdrummer"
and
"C:/Users/"CurrentUser"/AppData/Roaming/Toontrack/EZdrummer/OnlineMIDI"
BR,
John

Hey,

I am having the same issue... I wanted to reinstall everything (after a few year of no use) to get a feel for whether I want to stick with ezdrummer or upgrade to SD 2.0 or EZ2.0......

I went to my registrations, but I can't delete the authorizations. I can cancel, but I can't delete.

Help?

James

Just uninstalling and re-installing does not require a new Authorization, since the Computer ID does not change by that fact alone.
Looking at your account, you do not seem to have used another Auth, so I presume you just clicked Authorize and had the same Computer ID.
Anyways, you will not waste Authorizations, we're here to help.

Pheeleep on When will Superior inherit features of EZD2?

I have been waiting for Superior Drummer to get updated with some of the new EZ Drummer 2 features (Easily swap kit pieces, which is a convoluted process in Superior Drummer 2). "Tap to find" MIDI grooves that are similar. Superior Drummer 2 doesn't have this. As it is, Superior Drummer 2 is more expensive than EZ Drummer 2 yet feels like a lesser product in terms of workflow (regardless of the extra features that Superior Drummer 2 has over EZ drummer 2).

I use EZ Drummer 2 way more than Superior Drummer 2, even though SD2 has its own unique features as well. Will there be a new and improved Superior drummer 3 that inherits the new cool stuff that has been available for more than a year in EZ Drummer 2? Thanks for any info you may be able to provide.

I love your stuff :)
